Why "Liftcentraal B.V." chose Langer & Laumann:
Many elevator components never come into contact with, or within sight of, the elevator user. Who touches an elevator motor or all possible parts in the machine room or elevator shaft. The elevator doors are an exception. They are of course very important for the proper functioning of the elevator. And since users consciously or unconsciously touch or collide with the doors, smart decisions are required here. Today we take a look at the door operators from Langer & Laumann (L&L), which we have chosen quite deliberately.
Briefly back to elevator doors. Older elevator doors are, with exceptions, more robustly built than modern elevator doors. Therefore Liftcentraal strives to maintain these old, robust doors and we prefer to replace the wearing parts on them rather than replacing them altogether. This is more sustainable than replacing good old doors with modern, lighter doors. That's one of the reasons we believe elevator modernization is a better choice than complete replacement in most cases.
The door operator is such a wear-prone part. It is the entire mechanism for opening and closing the doors, including the safety components. What makes L&L special is that the company has developed replacement operators for virtually all old doors, regardless of brand, type or age. L&L's full door poster proves it (see below). We like to show this poster to new mechanics to show once the various techniques that have been developed. Built from solid, sturdy and durable materials. This quality is not always found in newer doors.
What could be better and more sustainable than leaving the good stuff here and replacing the old drive system, a motor that is often still three-phase, with an adjustable and energy-efficient timing belt system? We often perform this retrofit to provide a clean-running, trouble-free door system. No matter what make and model, our supplier Langer & Laumann has the right solution ready. Also for "newer elevators", where the quality of the door control sometimes leaves a lot to be desired.
A picture of the existing plant is enough to quickly get sound advice from L&L. They now supply more than 500 different models directly from stock, and the basis is always the same. The great thing is that L&L offers more and more possibilities to communicate with existing (bus) systems or offer intelligent solutions that greatly simplify modernization and control old gates with the latest microprocessor controls. This allows us to install quickly in any situation.
The switch to this universal product in 1A quality is entirely in line with Liftcentraal's desire for quality and delivery reliability and brings many advantages for our customers. Sometimes there are situations where things go differently. Then it is good that we can rely on our supplier with 25 years of experience to find a well thought-out solution.
If we can reuse the existing doors, it often saves a lot of construction work. It is therefore often the most economical and sustainable solution.
