A faulty or discontinued variable frequency drive does not necessarily mean that the entire drive system needs to be replaced. NDC’s specialists inspect the drive, identify the cause of the fault and repair or refurbish the necessary components. The unit is then thoroughly tested before being returned to service.
NDC follows a clearly defined process:
TEST → DIAGNOSIS → REFURBISH → TEST
Specially developed test rigs simulate the real operating conditions of a lift. This allows the refurbished drive to be comprehensively tested before it is delivered.

A study conducted jointly with the University of Manchester shows that refurbishing an existing drive can reduce its environmental impact by up to 91 % compared with purchasing a new unit.
